Digital ECU Reprogramming Certificate: QR Verification, White Label and Vehicle Linking

EA

EcuTracer It incorporates a system of digital certificates of authenticity for each ECU reprogramming. It is automatically generated upon completion of each order, includes QR verification, and is linked to the vehicle via invoice, registration number, or VIN, making it virtually impossible to counterfeit.

What is it and how does it work?

Each time a distributor requests a reprogramming file and the order is completed, EcuTracer automatically generates a digital certificate with a unique identifier (format ECT-2026-XXXXXX), a security token, and a public verification QR code.

The system automatically populates the vehicle data (make, model, engine, ECU, fuel type), original and reprogrammed power outputs, and applied services (Stage 1, DPF, EGR, etc.) from the integrated database and order metadata. The dealer does not need to do anything additional.

Vehicle Linkage: Invoice, Registration or VIN

The certificate is attached to the vehicle by means of three methods of identification: the order invoice number, the vehicle registration and/or the chassis number (VIN). These details can be combined — one, two or all three at once — ensuring a 100% secure link between the certificate and the specific vehicle to which the reprogramming was applied.

This triple link makes the certificate non-transferable: it cannot be used to certify the reprogramming of a vehicle other than the original. If someone tries to present a certificate for another car, the data will not match the verification.

Instant Verification via QR

Anyone can scan the certificate's QR code with their mobile phone. If it's valid, a green screen appears with all the vehicle details and the work performed. If it's invalid or fake, a red screen appears. No login or registration required; public and instant verification. Useful for inspectors, used car buyers, or the end customer.

Anti-Fraud: No Certificate, Not Genuine

The logic is straightforward: Only orders completed on EcuTracer generate valid certificates.. If a customer doesn't have a certificate, or if the system says "Not Found" when verifying it, it means the software didn't come from that workshop or from EcuTracer. It could be a copy, a file of dubious origin, or a fabricated certificate.

Combined with linking via invoice, registration number, and VIN, the system detects both counterfeit certificates and attempts to reuse a legitimate certificate on a different vehicle. Complete protection for workshops and end customers.

White Label: Your Workshop, Your Certificate

From "My Account," each dealer can upload their logo, fill in their contact information (name, phone number, email, website, address), and decide whether to display "Powered by EcuTracer" or remove it entirely. The result is a 100% certificate that reflects the workshop's identity: its logo, name, and signature. This is a marketing tool that the end customer values and that sets professional workshops apart.

Validity for Homologation

In many countries, homologating engine modifications requires detailed technical documentation. The EcuTracer certificate includes vehicle data, ECU identification, original and modified power outputs, and services performed: exactly what most homologation bodies require.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it generated automatically? Yes. When you complete an order with vehicle data, the certificate is created using only a unique number and security token.

Can I customize it with my brand? Yes. Logo, workshop details, and option to hide the EcuTracer reference. 100% generic brand.

How does verification work? Scan the QR code with your mobile phone. Green screen = valid. Red screen = does not exist or is fake.

Is it suitable for homologation? It provides the technical documentation required by many countries. The homologation process depends on local regulations.

What if the certificate is fake? The QR code verification checks the real database. If it doesn't exist, it's displayed as invalid. Impossible to forge.

Can I generate certificates for previous orders? Yes, manually from the administration panel of each order.

Conclusion

Automatic generation, QR verification, triple vehicle linking, white labeling, and fraud detection. Everything is integrated into every EcuTracer order, requiring no additional work from the distributor. If you want to offer verifiable professional certificates under your own brand, register with EcuTracer and start generating certificates with every order.
